Classic mead is the oldest alcoholic beverage on the planet. Fermented only with pure alfalfa honey, water, and yeast, this simple, sweet pleasure should be the first beverage that anyone ever tries. And, if you stop by the Studio, this one starts the flight.
Apple juice from our hard cider process was used to dilute the honey to a fermentable state. The resulting mead is like the classic, only with hints of Macintosh and Honeycrisp (apples that is). Absolutely delicious. Served chilled!
You guessed it. Nothing but locally-sourced blackberries, strawberries, and all-natural honey are combined and fermented to produce an intoxicating elixir. The berries complement the honey perfectly to give this mead some summery zip.
A few more berries can never hurt, right? Says one winemaker to another. It certainly does not. Add blueberries and raspberries, to the blackberries and honey and WOW, what a powerful and delicious summer mead. Wow!
